iPod Hi-Fi

Released on February 28, 2006, iPod Hi-Fi is another feather added to Apple's cap. It is a stunning, compact sound system that will surely make you bid bye-bye to your hefty, big home stereo system. With an integrated Universal Dock for iPod, you can easily connect your iPod and listen to your favorite music collections saved on it.

Similar to other Apple products, iPod Hi-Fi has been carefully crafted with precision and eminence. You would be amazed by what this tiny unit (measures just 17.0" x 6.6" x 6.9.") can deliver. It produces rich and audible, crystal-clear sound. Another appealing fact is that you can take it with you while you are on the move, provided you have six D-cell batteries to power it up and are ready to bear the extra weight of 16.7 pounds (7.6 kg) added to your backpack.

Moving on to the tech specs; the iPod Hi-Fi has two 80-mm wide-range drivers and one 130-mm woofer; sealed and tuned resin chamber; sealed, acoustic suspension for mid-range system; dual voice coil, ported bass reflex design for bass system; a frequency response: 53Hz to 16kHz ± 3 dB; and a maximum peak sound pressure level of 108 dB at 1 m when running on AC power, and 102 dB at 1 m when running on DC power. iPod Hi-Fi is compatible with all iPod models with a dock connector through the integrated Universal Dock, and with iPod shuffle and iPod models without a dock connector through the audio input port via a standard 3.5-mm audio cable (sold separately).

Two touch-sensitive buttons for adjusting the volume are the only controls on the unit. But don't worry; the iPod Hi-Fi ships with a wireless infrared remote for your convenience. Setting up your iPod Hi-Fi speakers is extremely easy; just connect your iPod and press play. That's all to it!

There have been mixed reactions on the quality of sound produced by the iPod Hi-Fi. Some argue that the system frequency driver cannot produce clarity and depth at higher frequencies, while other are of the opinion that it produces pumping bass to bright treble. Now it's left up to you to decide. Visit your nearest Apple's authorized dealer, and test for yourself before shelling out $349 for one.

Ebay.com is one of the best places to buy an Apple iPod Hi-Fi, mainly because of cheaper rates, buyer protection, seller reputation monitoring, enormous selection, etc. Being an auction site, who knows maybe you can bag an Apple iPod Hi-Fi merely at half its original rate.
